About BioWV

BioWV, the Bioscience Association of West Virginia, was formed in 2009 and incorporated in the State of West Virginia as a non-profit association.

The purpose of the Association is to promote the bioscience industry in West Virginia, expand the knowledge and expertise of West Virginia’s businesses concerning the life sciences through seminars, educational publications and to enhance public awareness of the biotechnology industry in West Virginia. BioWV represents the interests of the bioscience industry in West Virginia before federal, state and local legislators and regulators.

BIOAs a member of the Council of State Bioscience Associations (CSBA), we benefit from the ability to share best practices across the country and from gaining a stronger voice for influencing the legislative landscape for future growth. The Council of State Bioscience Associations (CSBA) is a confederation of state-based, non-profit trade organizations each governed by its own board of directors. The common mission of the members of the CSBA is to promote public understanding, and to advocate for public policies that support the responsible development of the bioscience industry. These groups are recognized by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) as affiliate organizations in their respective states.
